Walk on By is a new photo by Jed Smith.
I’m happy to introduce a scene I captured on one of my recent photo excursions. I’m constantly intrigued and entertained by “snippets” of Italian street life, and I was happy to be quick on the draw to capture this one. The expression of this well-heeled signora is the focal point of this image. Looking at the image now I can imagine countless captions. So, I decided I’d have a little fun and invite you to bring your unique perspectives to this image and submit a caption in the comments sections of this website/blog Italywise.com. One entry per person*, and submissions must be made by end of day Tuesday, April 19 midnight PST. The winning submission will receive a $30 Amazon.com gift card (or the equivalent in the country of the winner).
To see this and other photography and paintings be sure to visit my online gallery.
*Family/relatives are ineligible (though you can still submit for fun!)
Still shopping. One can still look, right?
Don’t let your sparkle fade
Stink Eye…she definitely didn’t like this guy for some reason, or could it just be her normal way she looks at men? I love how you captured this woman’s look and the colors in the photo. Great shot!

Did He Really?
Hum…but can he dance?
E’ che Giuseppe da 6th grado? Aveva L’abitudine di tiare i cappeli !!! Is that Joe from 6th grade? He used to pull my hair !!! Shes giving him the “evil eye” ! Good thing Joe wears a cornicello ! Baci Anita
Fire…and ice…
Woman (with her tiny ballerina feet) thinking to herself – “Look at poor Giuseppe… his poor ankles are so deformed from all those years of doing the Michael Jackson moonwalk”.
“Andando e venendo…” (Coming and going)
Great photo, Jed! Love the colors you captured!
“Contrast” (woman/man/empty street, her colors/colors of buildings & man’s clothes, her look/his indifference, informal environment/her more formal attire)……anyway that’s what immediately came to mind when I first saw this picture.
If someone’s going to eat beans for breakfast, they shouldn’t go out in public until after lunch!
The Look
SONATA AZZURO
“Against her grain……” (This woman is clearly not happy with this gentleman…..perhaps it is because he is not dressed to her standards, or because he is carrying his purchase in a plastic bag…..)
