“Bella” is a longtime favorite of mine. This large watercolor pays tribute to a lovely woman who graciously allowed me to capture a few images of her which she stood outside her vibrantly-rendered house on the island and fishing village of Burano. This picturesque island, a thirty-minute vaporetto ride from from Venice, was largely unaffected by tourists at the time (over twenty years ago). Now, unless you’re there at the crack of dawn or during colder winter months, you’ll be distracted by throngs of tourists who now flock to this visual paradise.
