I’m proud to unveil my full series of water-themed paintings!
And more are on the way! If you’ve been following earlier posts, you’ll know that the vibrantly colored waters of the Mediterranean have captured this artist’s heart. Observing and painting the human form in its many manifestations in the watery world is an ongoing obsession. Water represents so much and can be a metaphor for support, a state of flow, of power, and non-resistance.

Introducing jedsmithart.com
After much consideration, I decided that my ever-expanding water series of paintings deserves a dedicated, stand-alone gallery. And my fuller body of paintings and photography also deserves a special home. This is why I have spent the last five months building out the gallery experience you’ll find at jedsmithart.com.
When you land on the homepage of my new gallery site, you’ll be greeted by the alluring waters of the Mediterranean. I’ve endeavored to capture the many personalities (lighting and movements) of the sea found in southern Italy.
When I paint water, I feel free, lost in something bigger and more mysterious.
I won’t say much more than this because I believe art should be mostly experienced, allowing each viewer to experience what resonates with them, and what moves them. But I will say, when I am in this space of painting the human form at rest and in movement of the waters of the Mediterranean, I feel in touch with my deepest self.
And the photography…
At jedsmithart.com you’ll find numerous photography galleries, both color and black and white. Frankly, as I was organizing my images, I was shocked at the number of photos that have been languishing in the “vaults” unseen. I’ll soon be adding more because I’ve been a very busy man over the years with my camera and lenses!
I hope you’ll subscribe to jedsmithart.com
This way you’ll be privy to introductions of new paintings and photography. I didn’t conceive this dedicated, online gallery as a blog, so I plan to keep communications limited to important news and unveilings.
Meanwhile, ItalyWise.com continues!
I plan to keep sharing my continually expanding Italian experiences with you. And, believe me, many new adventures are in store. I’ll have news to share before the end of the year. So, stay tuned!
In the meantime, I hope you’ll check out jedsmithart.com and imagine yourself swimming in the waters of the Mediterranean.
