No. 361 – New Painting by Jed

No. 361

I’m happy to present the latest painting in my series of watercolors depicting street life in Italy. I love the movements of everyday Italian life. This scene was inspired by a recent trip to the island of Burano, which is just a short vaporetto ride from the Fondamente Nuove stop in Venice. I love being on the island when the town is waking up and when you can see people emerging from their homes and going about their daily rituals. Almost every angle in this fishing village, rendered in a vast array of colors, presents an unassuming, yet compelling work of art.

See this and other paintings in my online gallery.

Ciao Anita, I still have so many ideas for paintings from my trips there. I’ll be spending more time in the Veneto in the very near future, so more to come! Grazie!

Hi Jed, We love this new painting…the colors, stripes, texture and of course the dutiful lady!!!
We are looking at the Rome schedule and we are free on the Weekend during the day (October 17th and 18th). We have a couple dinner reservations set on the 15th and 17th which you could be added to…no plans for the evening of the 18th.

Let us know if we can see you when we are there. (Can i use your old email address?) xoxo Jeff and Kathy

Hi Kathy and Jeff, I’m so glad you like my latest painting. I like dutiful people who are almost meditative in their daily tasks. I’ll check with Simone tomorrow to find out what his schedule is like on October 17 and 18, during the day. Hopefully one of those days will work. It will be great to see you and to catch up in person. Un grande abbracio, Jed

Grazie Michelle! I love painting and creating. Soon I’ll be tackling a large canvas for my second oil painting. Oil and watercolors are so different, but they each teach me things I can apply to the other. Hope you are well. Love and good thoughts, Jed
